Microsoft is one of the companies making an impressive comeback in the market for web chat software.
The software giant is making its first software ranking for the popular chat software Quora.
The company, which is owned by Microsoft and operates in over 100 countries, said it’s been working on ranking Quora in the US and Canada for more than two years, with the latest software version coming in May.
“Quora is a chat platform that has become a favorite among millions of people around the world, but the company is also looking to gain a global foothold,” Quora CEO Josh Levin told TechCrunch.
“While our software rankings have improved over time, we’re still a long way from a global ranking, and Quora’s growing user base is pushing us to stay focused on the US, Canada, and Mexico markets,” Levin added.
Quora currently has more than 100 million monthly users in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with some analysts estimating the platform could reach as high as 200 million by 2019.
Levin also noted Quora has a huge user base across countries.
“The US and Canadian markets are the best market for Quora, with over 1 billion monthly users and a user base of over 1.4 billion in the whole world,” Levin said.
Quota currently has over 1,200 user communities across the globe, and Levin said it has a “huge user base” in those countries, and the platform is looking to expand in the next few years.
“We are excited about the opportunity to continue to grow our user base and reach more people, and are very excited to partner with Quora on their next product, Quora Chat,” Levin wrote in the announcement.
Quorum, which has also grown its user base, also announced its software ranking on Thursday.
Quotamash, which started in 2011, has more users in US and Australia than any other company, and has grown to over 2 million monthly active users in those markets.
Quotamak has more active users than Facebook and Google.
“When you add up the number of active users and active users per active user, you have a metric that you can use to measure the success of your product and the impact it’s having on users,” Quotammash CEO Ben Williams said in the statement.
“So it makes sense for Quotaminash to take this step and get their software ranking.”
Quotaminas software ranking is based on how users are interacting with the Quora site.
The site currently has around 1.5 million users on Facebook and around 1 million users in China, according to Quotamina.
Quoteamash is also adding new features to its product.
It’s now adding a search feature, where users can search for any query and a list of other Quotas answers, as well as search Quora to see what answers have been asked the most.
Quoting Quora founder Sam Altman, Williams said the company will continue to add new features and add more tools to Quora that will make it easier for users to interact with the service.
“Our goal is to be the most comprehensive and powerful chat platform on the internet,” Williams said.
